Ramon Peachey is an accomplished international communications leader with a distinguished track record of designing and directing high-impact communication strategies across the global development sector.
He began his professional career as a Graduate Business Analyst with BHP Billiton, one of the world’s largest mining and metals corporations. He subsequently transitioned into international development. Prior to joining ICRISAT, Ramon served as Director of Communications for the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the intergovernmental body comprising eleven member states advancing economic integration and policy coordination across the Eastern Caribbean. In this role, he led regional communications strategy at the ministerial and head-of-government level, supporting the economic union, climate resilience, and sustainable development initiatives.
He has worked with leading global development consulting firms, including Tetra Tech International Development and Abt Associates, managing large-scale communication programs funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Papua New Guinea, and has provided advisory support to United Nations initiatives in South America.
His career spans multiple regions and complex operating environments, with professional experience across Australia, India, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Colombia, Guyana, and the member states and territories of the Eastern Caribbean, including Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, Montserrat, the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, and Martinique.
Ramon is bilingual in English and Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness, and a Master of Professional Communication from James Cook University and the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
