Ramon Peachey possesses a strong track record of developing and managing communication programs in the international development sector. He commenced his career as a graduate business analyst with BHP Billiton, the multinational mining and metals public company, before working on a range of development programs to address severe indigenous disadvantage across Australia. Before joining ICRISAT, he was the Director of Communications for The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States – the intergovernmental organisation comprising eleven member nations advancing a common economic union in the West Indies. Prior, he worked for leading international development consultancy firms Tetra Tech International Development and Abt Associates, managing communication programs on behalf of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Papua New Guinea and consulting with the United Nations in South America.

His professional journey has not only spanned continents but also encompassed a diverse array of countries, including Australia, India, Papua New Guinea, Colombia, Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, Montserrat, the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, and Martinique.

He speaks Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness, and a Master of Professional Communication from James Cook University and the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
