Webinar on Scalable Agri-Solutions for the Global South

On the occasion of the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation (12 September 2025), ICRISAT is pleased to host a webinar on: “Scalable Solutions for Crop Improvement and Production Technologies for the Global South”

Through this event, the ICRISAT Center of Excellence for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (ISSCA) will showcase proven, field-validated, scalable innovations and provide a platform to reflect on lessons learned, share innovations, and discuss strategies for scaling solutions that strengthen food and nutrition security across the Global South.

The opening session of the webinar will feature remarks from the Director General of UN-FAO, as well as the Director Generals of CGIAR Centers and National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS), and partners. The technical sessions will have presentations by senior leadership from CGIAR Centers and NARS on the institution’s recent scalable research contributions and vision for the future related to crop improvement and production technologies.

This year’s UN theme for South-South cooperation, “New Opportunities and Innovation through South-South and Triangular Cooperation”, highlights the power of collaboration among countries of the Global South in driving collective action and innovation.

We are honoured to join the global community in recognizing the critical role of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in addressing today’s most urgent challenges — from climate change and food insecurity to digital divides and uneven post-pandemic recovery.
