Greg Johnson is a senior financial executive with extensive experience in the international multi-lateral system focussing on financial governance, accountability, risk and oversight, incorporating all aspects of administration and operations. 

He began his career in the private sector working in both private and publicly owned companies in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, as well as in chartered accountancy practices. 

From 1988 to 1994 he served at the United Nations Development Programme occupying financial roles in New York and N’Djamena. In 1994 he joined the International Labour Office (ILO) with responsibility for budgetary matters. The last 15 years of his career at the ILO he occupied the position of Treasurer and Financial Comptroller, Assistant Director-General, with overall responsibility for global financial governance of the organization including risk management and procurement. 

Subsequent to leaving the United Nations System in 2019 he has served on independent oversight and investment committees providing advice on financial and budgetary matters, risk management, financial governance and oversight. 

A professionally qualified chartered accountant and cost and management accountant, he is a member of the Australia New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) and has an honours degree in Business Management from the University of Waikato.
