Dr Prasad Jairam Kamdi is an Agronomist with more than 15 years of experience in cropping systems, integrated land-water-nutrient management, on-farm participatory research and research farm management. He is an Indian and currently working as Manager in ICRISAT Development Center, Global Research Program on Resilient Farm and Food Systems at ICRISAT, Hyderabad, India. Dr. Prasad Kamdi has been part of multi-disciplinary scientists for designing, executing, and managing strategic research at ICRISAT and implement research for development projects with wide array of partners. He is keenly involved in testing and validation of regenerative agriculture and natural resource management technologies along with collection and analysis of research data to support system-level research. He has expertise in cropping systems agronomy, developing work packages in research proposals, and demonstrating sustainable and profitable scientific technologies to farmers for productivity enhancement in the dryland regions. He has been involved in several strategic research proposals, which have multi-faceted impacts on natural resources and improving livelihoods of the farmers.
Dr Prasad was awarded Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. Dr Prasad has a good track record of publications in high impact factor journals. One of his first author articles is published as a featured article on the cover page of Agronomy Journal, the flagship Journal of American Society of Agronomy.
Dr Prasad has awarded ‘Best Researcher Award’ in 3rd Edition of International Research Awards on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems for the Contribution and Honourable Achievement in Innovative Research. This award is given by Scifax Information and Analytics Private Limited, which is a approved and Registered by Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Govt. of India. Dr Prasad was recognized as “ICRISAT Shine Award-Research Achiever” in the year 2017 for his significant contribution to ICRISAT’s strategic research work, multi-disciplinary scientists, and Donor/Partner satisfaction.
Before his current position, Dr Prasad worked as Junior Agronomist in a multi-national private company and as Research Associate at Agriculture University in India.
