Dr Abhishek Das serves as an Agricultural Economist at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in India. His academic journey includes the achievement of a Ph.D. in economics from Jadavpur University in India. With more than 7 years of post-PhD experience, he has honed his expertise in addressing economic policy and food systems-related challenges at both field and program levels.
His research is primarily cantered on food systems and economic policies within the regions of Asia and Africa. Specifically, he is dedicated to the identification and utilization of opportunities to establish food systems that prioritize nutrition, foster inclusive agricultural value chains, and formulate policies and institutions that facilitate market-driven innovations. He is passionate about formulating policies and institutions that facilitate market-led innovations, ultimately contributing to the sustainability and resilience of agricultural practices and food systems. In addition to this, he is actively engaged in researching human decision-making behaviour.
